His interest lies in questioning the status quo through Collaborative Arts. Midie maintains a punk ethos in his work breaking the barriers in accessing Art and creativity. He is driven by street talking, social history and is creatively motivated by spontaneous fun. Midie Corcoran is a performer, director, writer, teller of stories and collaborative Artist since 1985. Jojo graduated from Kingston University, Goldsmiths University, NCAD and GMIT. Since 2018 she has been a Creative Associate as part of Creative Schools. Jojo has collaborated with many different groups and artists, to play humorously with hierarchies, create alternative networks, produce exhibitions as events and undertake residencies across London, Ireland and the rest of Europe. Her work explores themes of power, place, myths, identity and social justice issues. Jojo Hynes is a visual artist, performer, and collaborator based in Tuam Co. Their digital projections of the cultural spaces they would like to see in Galway were projected onto the Galway City Museum. The children worked with artists Jojo Hynes, Midie Corcoran, Róisín Seoige, Atmos Collective and Laura Angell to create two site specific outdoor events which took place during the 26th annual Baboró festival in October 2022.ĭuring the first weekend of the festival, the young artists in Rosmuc presented their live protest performance, which included music and digital projection, outside Ionad Cultúrtha an Phiarsaigh at nightfall.Ī week later, the Galway city ensemble performed at the Spanish Arch made their voices heard as the River Corrib rushed by. Proclaiming the need for a child-led cultural space in the West of Ireland, two groups of children in Rosmuc and Galway city raised their voices and shared their creativity with their communities through rebellious songs, colourful banners, and digital projections.īoth youth ensembles created their visions and proclamations in response to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. This event will follow all current local and state health guidelines. These same safety protocols will be in place for Singularity. Covid protocols were strictly enforced including temperature checks, masks required, masks and sanitizer provided, staff cleaning high contact areas regularly, and reduced capacity in an open air venue. This took place in September and had no reported cases of Covid-19 following it. Singularity follows Mutiny Music Collective’s successful Roll’N Rave, their first socially distanced pod experience.
